NAVA at Sector Sessions: Long Table

Come and have a seat with NAVA at the Long Table, a pop-up co-working space in Randwick for creatives to clear that admin to-do list together in solidarity. Hosted by Randwick City Council, the Long Table offers a space for artists to build skills, share knowledge, and connect with others navigating the realities of creative work. Thursday 14 May 2026, Randwick Town Hall, 11am - 4pm AEST.

About the Session

Randwick Town Hall will be transformed into the ultimate space to focus — with long tables, low lighting, free coffee, and not to mention the accountability of an open plan area. Step out of your bedroom office, free up the table at your local café and join your creative peers at the Long Table, a pop-up co-working space hosted by the Arts and Culture team.

Programmed during tax time and grants season (IYKYK), use this session to smash that inbox, send those invoices, write those pitches, or finally spend some time updating your website... Want to lock-in without distractions? Give us your phone, we’ll keep it safe.

Whether you’re a starter-upper, sole trader, or seasoned pro, administration can be a lonely part of the job often left neglected. At the Long Table, you’re never alone. Think of it like parallel play, but for adults. With emails.

Ask NAVA

Alongside the dedicated space for focused work, attendees will have access to one-on-one conversations with a representative from the National Association for the Visual Arts (NAVA). NAVA is a membership organisation that brings together the many voices of the contemporary arts sector to improve fundamental conditions of work and practice. Donnalyn Xu will be onsite offering practical guidance on:

  • fair pay and artist fees
  • contracts and working relationships
  • applying the Code of Practice in real scenarios

For artists and arts workers navigating freelance, project-based or institutional contexts, this is an opportunity to translate sector standards into day-to-day practice. Book a time slot with NAVA in advance or join the waitlist on the day.
