Q&A with Wendy Whiteley

A preview of our upcoming NAVA in conversation podcast with Wendy Whiteley.

Coinciding with the recent release of the documentary WHITELEY we had a chat to Wendy Whiteley about the challenges of being an artist in Australia and what it takes to make it internationally. Preview a short clip from the interview below. The extended interview will be published as part of our NAVA in conversation podcast series in late July. NAVA is also proud to be partnering with Northern Pictures on the release of the documentary WHITELEY. Northern Pictures' documentary, WHITELEY, is fortunate to have an official Impact Campaign supported by Good Pitch Australia. While the documentary focuses on Whiteley’s life and body of work, it’s also an inspiring celebration of art and artists in Australia. Partners of the campaign include the Art Gallery of NSW, the Brett Whiteley Studio, and the National Art School. NAVA is the official policy partner, and throughout this year we’ll be collaborating with the filmmakers in support of some of our mutual objectives: fair pay for artists, art education, art funding, national arts policy, and valuing artists in our community. You can connect with the impact campaign via @WhiteleyTheFilm on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and share / follow #ArtIsARealJob.
