Exhibition: Tas Mania

Opening drinks, 3-5 pm Sat 7 Nov. Closing drinks 3-5 pm Sun 21 Nov. Hours, see website for details. Exhibition of ready framed, oil on canvas, paintings. The reflections on a road trip taken in spring of 2025, exploring Lutruwita/Tasmania.

Tas Mania

Cape Grimm, the cleanest air on earth.
Carbon neutral, like Bhutan and Surinam.
Home to Tech Bros and Oiligarchs (after the singularity).
Home to Bob Brown, staunch as Myles and Milo Dunphy.
Home to Bill Mollison and Permaculture.

I could also mention birthplace of William Charles Piguenit, and of Australia's first railway, and of Bruny Island where the legend of the 110m tree stood and was felled, of the sandstone gaol in almost every village and town, and countless other trivia. The reality is it was a long held ambition to cross the Bass Strait and explore that oft forgotten piece of Australia/New Holland. These works, completed in a realist mode with the use of photographic reference, serve as a documentary and travelogue of the experience and a reminder to the viewer of their own travels near and far.
