Our artist support category aims to rebuild our creative workforce. It supports professional practicing artists from priority communities to continue to live and practice in Sydney. Open for applications once a year, the program funds 40 successful applicants across a range of artforms and at different stages of their careers. The funding is to support any aspect of creative practice as well as cost of living and costs of producing new work.

The Conservator (Loans) is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering conservation services for inward and outward loans, with a focus on the safe handling, movement, installation, display and care of collection objects and borrowed material. The role also provides conservation support for commissions and public art at Powerhouse Parramatta and contributes to the preservation, access and presentation of the Museum’s multi-disciplinary collections.

Hornsby Art Prize 2026
Established in 2009, the Hornsby Art Prize is organised and sponsored by Hornsby Shire Council and delivered in partnership with the Hornsby Art Society. Hornsby Art Prize has an overall prize pool value of $23,000, with the major prize $10,000. Categories include Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Photography and Sculpture. The non-acquisitive prize celebrates Australian Contemporary Art and is open to all permanent Australian residents aged 18 years and over.
