Exhibition: Anindita BANERJEE | YouYang Tat Sat

YouYang Tat Sat is an assemblage of sensations and emotions that have resulted from an unsolicited recall of involuntary memory and its mysterious muddled up reality. It is testament to a migrant’s yearning for an authentic sense of home and gives a peek into how she involuntarily harnesses memory and deploys it in the negotiations of life. From little private moments of the everyday to grander formalised public occasions, Banerjee examines how the stories of the past that are told in the name of memory can alter our perception of the present.
