The Freedman Foundation Travelling Scholarship for Emerging Artists features work by ten early career contemporary artists. Each year scholarships are awarded to artists to assist with the cost of overseas travel to: undertake formal study; undertake a residency or mentorship; undertake informal study for a planned research project.

This year The Freedman Foundation Travelling Scholarship Exhibition is curated by Yarran Gatsby who received a Curatorial Scholarship from The Freedman Foundation through the Masters of Curating and Cultural Leadership program at UNSW Art & Design.

The exhibition includes works by the 2018 scholars: Caroline Garcia (NSW), Shireen Taweel (NSW), Lu Forsberg (QLD), Mimi Kind (NSW) and Jimmy Nuttall (VIC) and the returning scholars from 2016: Alice Couttoupes (NSW), Brigitte Hart (VIC and England), Olivia Koh (VIC), Anna McMahon (NSW) and Georgia Saxelby (NSW and Washington DC).

The Freedman Foundation Travelling Scholarship and UNSW Curatorial Scholarship are administered by NAVA on behalf of The Freedman Foundation.
