Membership Coordinator

NAVA is seeking a Membership Coordinator to lead the day-to-day delivery and development of our Membership.

This is a hands-on, systems-focused role for someone who enjoys building clarity and consistency behind the scenes, while working directly with artists and arts workers.

Membership is central to NAVA’s work and sustainability. As we implement a new CRM system, we are looking for someone who can combine operational delivery with process improvement and data insight.

About the role

You will:

  • Process Membership applications and renewals
  • Respond to Member enquiries, including complex issues relating to pay and good practices under the Code of Practice
  • Liaise with insurance brokers
  • Maintain accurate and reliable Membership data
  • Lead the implementation and optimisation of a new CRM system
  • Develop clear workflows and improve internal systems
  • Produce regular reports on Membership trends and renewals
  • Coordinate monthly Member newsletter and social media scheduling.

You will work closely with the General Manager and Executive Director, contributing operational insight to NAVA’s advocacy and strategic work.

About you

You are:

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working with databases and CRM systems
  • Confident analysing data and identifying trends
  • Calm and professional when responding to complex enquiries
  • Motivated by improving systems and making processes clearer
  • Interested in artists’ rights and equitable practice.

Experience in membership administration, CRM management or not-for-profit operations will be highly regarded.

Communications and Advocacy Co-Manager (0.6 FTE Job Share Arrangement)

NAVA is seeking a Communications & Advocacy Co-Manager to jointly lead our communications and advocacy portfolio in a structured job share arrangement.

This is a senior role for someone who combines strategic thinking with strong writing skills and political awareness. You will help shape national advocacy campaigns, grow NAVA’s Membership, and ensure our public communications are clear, credible and grounded in artists’ rights.

This role forms part of a 1.0 FTE job share model. The current role holder will continue in a 0.4 FTE capacity. You will work 0.6 FTE (3 days per week), sharing strategic and operational responsibility across the portfolio.

This is not a support position. Both Co-Managers contribute to strategy, campaign development and public positioning.

About the role

You will:

  • Develop and deliver advocacy campaigns on issues affecting artists and arts workers
  • Shape NAVA’s communications across website, eDMs, media releases and social channels
  • Analyse Membership data and campaign performance to refine strategy
  • Maintain and grow media and sector relationships
  • Monitor political and sector developments to inform NAVA’s public voice
  • Ensure all communications reflect copyright, moral rights and good practice standards under the Code of Practice for Visual Arts, Craft and Design.

You will work closely with the Executive Director and a small national team, operating within a job share structure with embedded handover and collaboration processes.

About you

You are:

  • An experienced communications or advocacy professional
  • An exceptional writer and editor
  • Confident working within public policy and sector contexts
  • Comfortable operating in collaborative or shared leadership environments
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple campaigns at once
  • Interested in artists’ rights and equitable practice.
  • Experience in an arts, cultural, government or not-for-profit context will be highly regarded.
