This 3 week course is full of ideas and inspiration for developing alternative income streams using your creativity and arts skills. Led by Amanda Buckland this courses leads you to explore the various opportunities on offer through resources, readings, interviews and case studies.


Topics covered include:

  • working creatively with local councils
  • developing Community Arts and Cultural Development projects
  • setting up creative workshops and projects with diverse communities.
  • engaging with place making and public art projects

Hours per week: 3 online hours 3 hours per week towards project outcomes

Duration: 3 weeks

COST: $143 for non-members / $114.40 for NAVA members (GST incl.). The members' price will only appear in the shop after logging in to the NAVA site.


About the course facilitator

Amanda Buckland s a cultural planner and arts educator who creates innovative and inspiring collaborations. She has over 25 years experience in facilitating partnerships and projects across local government, planning, education, arts, heritage, health and community sectors. Amanda has broad experience from cultural planning for local government, curating arts festivals, working as a hospital artist-in-residence to project managing public art and place making. Amanda currently delivers a course in Community Arts and Cultural Development through Sydney TAFE.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Participants are able to cancel their registration up to 7 days prior to the course start date by contacting NAVA. If cancellation occurs during the 7 days prior to the start date participants will be charged a 10% cancellation fee. There are no refunds for cancellation once the course has started.

For example:

  • If you cancel participation 14 days prior to course starting – no cost
  • If you cancel participation 6 days prior to course starting – 10% fee
  • If you cancel after the course has started – no refund possible

There will be no refunds of course registration fees once the course has started. Participants are expected to notify NAVA if they no longer wish to continue the course after the course start date. If participants do not notify NAVA that they wish to cancel their participation, and simply do not complete set tasks and activities they will not receive a refund or an acknowledgement of course participation.
