Cindy has worked creatively across mediums including paint, clay and photography; in PURE she translates the embodiment of emotion into a contemplation on canvas and ceramics. Using paint and glazes to reflect her state.
At Montsalvat, a sanctuary of creativity and monument to Victoria’s art history, Cindy’s paintings and vessels will exhibit in the Barn gallery. Employing colour to communicate a state of being, Campbell invites audiences to absorb her works’ harmony as an antidote to the chaos of the modern moment. They hum with layers of colour and feeling, prompting close inspection while rejecting distraction. She pairs repetitive brushstrokes with tonal layers to convey how the experience of a moment is composed of many moments gone before.
In memory, in our body, and at Montsalvat too: our present is a coalescence of the past.
Cindy will launch her exhibition accompanied by singer Rita Satch, whose live performance will engage sound to heighten the experience of the layered work in PURE.
