Workshop: Flawed, Cracked and Fractured

Join renowned American mixed‑media artist Kate Thompson for an immersive five‑day art workshop. 

Come and be part of an intimate creative experience, leaving with a beautifully unique, soulful book that celebrates individuality and honours vintage treasures. Kate’s work is very diverse, from collage, fibre arts, painting and drawing. The Flawed, Cracked and Fractured workshop has been design to inspire both beginners and advanced artists, to help develop skills and your art practices

In this richly layered workshop, you’ll create a vintage‑inspired fabric and paper book using exquisite handmade materials, time‑worn fabrics, and delicate laces. All supplies are generously provided, including botanical printed papers, eco‑dyed fabrics, antique ledgers, vintage ephemera, specifically designed collage papers, tannin rich inks, handmade watercolours, earth pigment pastels and so much more.

You will enjoy learning new techniques through a unique creative process while learning Kate’s signature techniques. Enjoy light meals as you explore imperfection, texture, mark making and storytelling as you are mentored and guided by Kate.

Drive or short walk from the bus stop. Parking is available on site. Toilet facilities are provided. Access to the building is via a wide ramp.
