Membership

NAVA brings together the many voices of the contemporary arts sector to improve fundamental conditions of work and practice. We do this through advocacy, education and the Code of Practice for Visual Arts, Craft and Design.

NAVA Membership offers a range of professional services, resources, programs and benefits designed to help organisations sustain good practice and help artists build successful careers.

We offer three affordable Membership packages:

• NAVA Premium Plus: comes with combined insurance package that includes, Professional Indemnity, Public and Products Liability and Personal Accident
• NAVA Premium: perfect for artists, arts workers, art educators and art supporters, pay annually or monthly
• NAVA Organisation: three logins for your staff

NAVA changed its insurance package through new brokers from 1 February 2025. 

Please note that if your current Premium Plus Membership expires on or before 31 January 2025, you are still covered by the LCIS package, and this change will not affect you. All new and renewing Premium Plus applications submitted from Saturday 1 February 2025 will be processed with the new insurance policy.

Premium Plus Membership comes with 6 types of heavily discounted insurance. It is exclusively available for professional visual artists, craftspeople, designers, curators, installers, registrars, conservators and arts administrators.

The insurance package included in the Premium Plus Membership offers:

• Public and Products Liability (includes Property Damage) - $20,000,000
• Professional Indemnity: $5,000,000
• Property in physical or legal control: $250,000
• Personal Accident up to $1000 per week

Members can access our encyclopaedia of online resources including factsheets, templates and checklists covering a range of topics such as grant writing, taxation, business skills, promoting your work, copyright and much more.

Art educators, students and schools can join NAVA for access to Educator and Classroom Guides, with content and learning outcomes linked to curriculums and syllabuses for all Australian states and territories.

NAVA Members can browse through, or post their own notices for upcoming exhibitions and events, as well as funding and job opportunities from around Australia and internationally.

NAVA Members receive discounts with a range of organisations across the sector such as:

• Discounted entry to paying exhibitions at major galleries around Australia
• 10% discount at Eckersley’s Art and Craft stores
• Discounted subscriptions to Artlink, Art Almanac and Vault magazines
• Discounts to professional development programs for artists, arts workers, and arts educators, plus learning programs for school educators
• Other giveaways and offers such as movie tickets and tickets to arts events.
