Join and participate in #NAVAideas – our interactive forums centred around key issues facing the arts sector across Australia.
In this session, we will discuss the hierarchies of power that control public space, and what is gained or lost when artists seek to exert influence in the public domain as a site of activism. Is public space becoming privatised under the guise of regulation of public order, public amenity and safety?
View the videos below featuring artists and curators, Maria White and Tristan Meecham sharing their thoughts and experiences on working in public space. Then get involved in the online discussion via Twitter on the issues and possible solutions or strategies for artists working outside the gallery.
