NAVA has prepared a Toolkit with all you need to know to add voice.
This year has really demonstrated just how precarious everything is in the arts. With the detrimental financial impacts of COVID-19, and most recently the 2020-2021 Budget's neglect of the arts sector, and increase of arts and humanities degree fees, the sector is genuinely in a position that we haven’t been in for a long time. We urgently need a creative and cultural policy that’s ambitious and fair – because without it, we risk losing culture, talent, jobs, and the local economies they power.
That's why it's critical – now more than ever – to make our voices heard in the Inquiry into Australia’s creative and cultural industries and institutions by the 22 October deadline!
NAVA strongly encourages artists, arts workers, organisations, networks, academics, audiences, students and friends to add your voice, detailing the benefits the arts bring to Australia, and the significant impacts that COVID-19 has had on our industry.
You can either make a submission or complete an easy 20 question survey. The survey is very doable in 10 minutes, though longer text boxes provide you the chance to have your say.
Your submission can take any form: written, illustrated, audio, video. See below for our NAVA toolkit. The more submissions the Inquiry receives, the greater the impact it will have. The Parliamentary Inquiry committee has to read ALL of them. Let's do this!
